Publication Ethics

The Journal of Applied Data Analytics and Intelligence Technology Hub (ADAITH) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics to ensure the integrity, transparency, and quality of the scholarly work it publishes. All parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to follow ethical guidelines in line with best practices and international standards.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality: Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.
  • Accurate Reporting: Authors are required to present accurate, clear, and objective data, results, and analyses. Misrepresentation or fabrication of data is considered unethical.
  • Citations and Acknowledgments: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must be given through appropriate citations. Authors should cite all sources that have influenced their research.
  • Authorship: All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as co-authors. Others who contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the results or interpretations of their research.
  • Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to retain and share their data for a reasonable time after publication.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

  • Fair Play: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely based on their academic merit, relevance to the journal's scope, and originality, without discrimination based on the authors' gender, ethnicity, nationality, or other personal characteristics.
  • Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information about manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and other editorial board members, as appropriate.
  • Conflict of Interest: Editors must not be involved in decisions about papers in which they have conflicts of interest. In such cases, another editor will be appointed to handle the manuscript.
  • Peer Review Process: Editors are responsible for ensuring a transparent and fair peer review process, selecting appropriate and qualified reviewers to evaluate the scientific merit of the submissions.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Objectivity: Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and unbiased feedback. Personal criticism is inappropriate, and reviews should focus on the content and contribution of the work.
  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share or discuss the content with others unless authorized by the editor.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify any relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Reviewers must also report any substantial similarity or overlap between the reviewed manuscript and other published work.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers are expected to complete their reviews within the agreed timeframe. If a reviewer feels unqualified or unable to meet the deadline, they should notify the editor promptly.

4. Responsibilities of the Publisher

The publisher of ADAITH is committed to supporting the ethical guidelines and ensuring that best practices in publishing are followed. The publisher works closely with the editorial board to prevent any ethical breaches, misconduct, or malpractice and is responsible for maintaining a high-quality publication environment.

5. Handling of Ethical Misconduct

Any suspected ethical misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or inappropriate authorship, will be investigated thoroughly by the editorial board. If a violation is confirmed, corrective actions may include retraction of the article, notification of relevant institutions, or banning future submissions from the responsible parties.
